This morning Lisa, our Chief Executive and Christine, our Advocacy Adviser met with Pharmac to discuss the PTAC recommendations, progress, and next steps for the Trikafta applications.

• Both applications (6 years and over and 12 years and over) are progressing through the Pharmac’s process. They will be ranked on the options for investment list over the next few weeks.
• Further advice will be sought from the Respiratory Subcommittee in relation to the PTAC minutes; this will give the clinical experts an opportunity to comment on the considerations made by PTAC.
• Pharmac will also encourage Vertex to provide additional supporting information.

The next big milestone will be in May, when next year’s budget for Pharmac is confirmed.

We are holding onto hope with the knowledge that Trikafta IS a drug that Pharmac wants to fund. We’ll continue to do all we can to make sure Pharmac understands that funding Trikafta is a very high priority for the CF community and that we’re not going to give up. As we build on our next steps, we will keep you in the loop and let you know how you can be involved.
