Kiwibank announced earlier this year that they are planning to stop processing cheques from 28 February 2020. You can read the full information on the Kiwibank website.
We are aware that some of our wonderful supporters are Kiwibank customers and use cheques to make donations. On their behalf, we have communicated our disappointment to Kiwibank and asked them to reconsider their decision and, at the very least, extend the transition timeframe for a few years.
We do however urge our Kiwibank customers to prepare for the change. Kiwibank are running free digital banking courses at selected community centres and libraries around the country. To find out more information, you can visit the Kiwibank website.
At this stage, no other New Zealand bank has announced any changes to their cheque policy, so we can assure our generous supporters with other banks, that if you still wish to donate by cheque you will be able to.
All banks offer a range of other safe ways to pay bills, make purchases or kindly give donations. To find out how you can use these other methods, please keep reading.
We are happy to help anyone affected by the change with finding other ways to support the work of Cystic Fibrosis NZ. You can use your debit card or credit card for any of the options below.
Donate on our website. This is the easiest, safest and most secure way to donate.
Cystic Fibrosis NZ is already loaded as a payee through online banking. If you are set up for internet banking, all you need to do is write our name in the payee box and our account details will appear. Please include your donor number if you know yours, or send us an email so we can thank you and send a receipt.
You can call our office on 09 308 9161 during office hours of 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday, and we will be able to process your donation over the phone.
Thank you for your continued support of Cystic Fibrosis NZ. If you have any concerns or questions, please call us on 09 308 9161.
