The CF Nelson Marlborough team kicked off 2019 with a sell-out fundraiser, supported by the CF community and local organisations.
A fun quiz night was held on 24 January at the Brightwater Sprig and Fern, which raised $616 to help support local people with CF and their families. It also provided an opportunity to network with businesses and raise awareness of cystic fibrosis.
Over 20 individuals and businesses donated raffle prizes thanks to the hard-working team of the CF Nelson Marlborough branch.
“We received great support from the local community for this event, and it was so popular we had to turn people away due to the small venue. Our next event we’re already planning a bigger venue,” says Rebecca Colley, CF Nelson Marlborough chairperson.
“We’d like to thank everyone who donated prizes for the raffles and friends and family of the branch for all the effort that went into sourcing raffle prizes and supporting the event. Special thanks to Stihl Shop Richmond who donated a further $300 and to Brightwater Sprig and Fern for hosting us,” Rebecca says.
The Nelson Marlborough branch is now focusing on their next fundraising event, the St Clair half marathon on 11 May. Check out their fundraising page to learn more and how you can support the branch.
