Employers: Have you ever wondered how you could possibly help a charity out without it costing your company ONE CENT?

Employees: Do you have accumulated Annual Leave that you are struggling to use up? What if you could donate the value of one day of your leave to a good cause like Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand's latest fundraising campaign, 'Donate a Day to CF' is a novel approach to relieving the problem of unused Annual Leave stacking up on an employer's books and allows an employee to make a charitable donation with ease.

Employees

With your employers agreement you can donate one day's Annual Leave to our work for people with CF. You will receive a donation tax receipt and at the end of the year, you can get a third of your donation back as a refund!

You get to support a fantastic kiwi cause - a small charity that struggles to make ends meet and works so hard to come up with great ideas LIKE THIS ONE to keep our services running.

Print off this document, it has a form already for you to sign and hand to your pay clerk - If they do not know what to do, then direct them to this page or to our National Office.

Employers

How much of a liability is your staff's accumulated leave on your balance sheet? Do you have staff who never quite manage to use up their leave and it accumulates leaving a big number on your accounts at year-end? What if we had a fundraising campaign that could help with that?

DONATE A DAY TO CF

We would like to ask your staff (especially those who have lots of leave days stacked up) to donate the value of one of their leave days to our cause.

They would let you know, with our sign-up form, that they want to DONATE A DAY and then your company would make the donation of that day's value to us! It's so much simpler that Payroll Giving!

Your staff can gift a far more significant amount to us than if we were asking them to send us a cheque and you potentially get a HEAP of accumulated leave off your books. All we need from you, at this stage, is an indication that you would allow staff to do this for us. Then we would send you a flier to include with their next payslip (either in hard copy or in electronic form) and we would ask you to let your staff know that you are supporting our cause.

Your staff get a tax donation receipt and your company gets a certificate of recognition for your reception. If lots of people sign up, we can stagger the payments to suit your business budget – we’re very flexible! If your company decides to match donations given by staff, then you will be able to claim a tax deduction for your company!
